Is the BudgetGPS solution designed as a truck mount solution only?
Yes. We will only support truck mounted hardware and do not plan to offer the service as part of a handheld solution.

Once I place an order with BudgetGPS, how long will it take for my equipment to arrive?
You should plan on 5-7 working days to receive all of your equipment.

How do I acquire GPS hardware for use with BudgetGPS?
Simply fill out the order form on our website and we will place orders for you. We will order GPS hardware specific for our GPS solution along with a housing for each unit.

Can I install the hardware myself?
Yes. The hardware solution is very simple and can be installed by your in-house mechanic. We will offer general instruction for you to review once you signup with BudgetGPS, but you are ultimately responsible for the installation.

What if I have extra i335 Units, can I use them with BudgetGPS?
At this time we don't support hardware that is not ordered through the BudgetGPS order process. Given the aggressive pricing offered by BudgetGPS our order process offers the cheapest solution.

Where can I find technical information and specific details on how to install and use the BudgetGPS system?
Once you signup and create an account with BudgetGPS you will receive a secure login to the BudgetGPS website which is specific to you and your company. You can then login into your account and review the technical documentation.

What if I need support for the BudgetGPS system?
BudgetGPS was released to the market in June of 2007 and our testing has proven that very little support is needed. We have found that most all questions can be answered by referring to the technical documentation. For those questions that cannot be answered through the use of the documentation we will offer e-mail support between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm eastern time Monday through Friday.

Are discounts available to trade association, groups or large customers (over 20 units)?
Yes, questions can be sent to sales@budgetgps.com.

Is there a contract associated with the BudgetGPS Mapping Service?
No, BudgetGPS is simply a month to month agreement. You are charged on the first of each month for the number of units you have requested to use with the mapping service. There is a two unit minimum per customer account.

Is there a minimum charge for the GPS Mapping Service?
Yes. Due to charges associated with the mapping service, there is a 2 unit minimum.

When activating i335 units with Sprint Nextel, is there a contract period associated this hardware?
Yes. Sprint Nextel requires a one year agreement on each unit. Early termination of this service is subject to penalty from Sprint.

Will the i335 Nextel hardware and monthly data plan bill appear on my Sprint Nextel invoice?
Yes. The new i335 units for use with the BudgetGPS solution will bill on your Sprint Nextel invoice along with the monthly data plan. Your credit card will be charged separately for the housings, harnesses and one time activation (a one-time charge) and monthly for the BudgetGPS mapping service.

What if I want to deactivate a unit during the month?
Once your credit card is charged at the beginning of the month, we will not adjust the current month billing. You may change your unit count for the next billing period.

How often do I receive updates from the GPS unit?
You will receive location updates in 2 minute increments when the vehicle is moving.

The data plan for the GPS unit is a 5MB plan. Is there a possibility the units could exceed this plan limit? If so, am I responsible for overages?
The systems is designed to only send updates when the vehicle is moving. We have designed the application such that standard 8 to 12 hour work days will fall within the limit of the 5MB data plan. If for some reason your vehicle is moving for greater than 12 hours daily for the entire month, you could expect to see some minor overage charges. The overage is billed by Sprint Nextel at .001 per KB on your Sprint Nextel bill.
